Venice is a residential, commercial, and recreational beachfront community within the city of Los Angeles. Located directly north of Marina del Rey and south of Santa Monica, it too borders the Pacific Ocean to the west. Venice was founded at the turn of the 20th century as a seaside resort town. It’s known for its canals, beaches, and circus-like atmosphere along the Ocean Front Walk. From the beautiful beach to the trendy and luxurious shopping along Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice is the epitome of gentrification. Tech companies have exploded within the community of Venice and a new and arguably refreshing atmosphere has increased housing desirability, dramatically driving up home valuations and spurring new residential development throughout the city.

Venice is located within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and approximately 10 elementary schools, four middle schools, and Venice High School serve the area. Venice High School is comprised of four small schools: a Foreign Language and International Studies Magnet, and STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine, Magnet, School for Advanced Studies (SAS), Media Academy, and Earth Justice Academy. Venice High is greatly supported by numerous community partnerships, parent groups, Booster, and Alumni associations. It’s also known for offering a large number of Advanced Placement classes and having an excellent athletics program.
